Aw, drat. And I was hoping my idea would be a winner. Well, congrats to Nathan! I'd also like to see a list of finalists, if possible. You should totally post one. I know I'd be fine with revealing my idea (although somehow I doubt I made it that far into the contest).

Brian,
Glad to hear that you might consider doing another contest. What do you think about letting the community do the judging? That way people KNOW that their idea is out there for everyone to see. Also if some jerk decides to steal somebody's idea, we will all know that it was a blatant rip-off.

From what I can see by the posts here is that there is a lot of interest in seeing what people are working on. I think people will get really excited about the opportunity to read all of the great ideas out there and vote on their favorite.

Brian,

could you post a list of the other finalists' ideas? I'm sure at least a few of them are ok with publicizing them, so we can get an idea on what the other ideas were.

Also, how about emailing everybody who entered once Nathan makes his project public?

Congratulations to Nathan, good luck to him for his project, and thanks to the MacMiniColo team!

John, I wish we could have mentioned it, but surely if it was your idea and it had the potential to make money from it, you'd expect the same privacy.

David, To be honest, I think you're right. I'm going to see if we can come up with something that gets the opportunity to even more people...but maybe isn't so encompassing for our staff.

It sounds like there are a lot of potential customers out there that may have a bad taste in their mouth from the contest deadline debacle. Maybe the only thing that can ease the peoples frustrations is another MacBook Air giveaway! :)

What a lame contest when the winner of a very sought after product and service doesn't even let us know what the idea was.

I didn't enter the contest as I'm already a customer of macminicolo, but I thought I'd add a comment for Dave.

"your customers may not be getting the service quality that you advertise."

As a customer of MMC for three years, I can tell you I've never had one issue with them. I've recommended the service to three friends who also are completely satisfied. Brian, Mike and Misbah are quick to help with anything (including the mistakes I make in with configuring my own box.) They're all good guys.

So while changing the contest date was probably an oversight on their part, I can tell you that's it's not indicative of my experience as a customer at all.

Wow, some of these comments are pretty rough. I don't see what the huge deal is. It was their contest so they probably have a right to make changes if it is affecting their business.

Anyone who was really interested in it would have surely been following it on the site and it seems they gave a few days notice of the change. It's not like you had to pay to enter or anything.

Looking forward to what Mr. Brennan has in store for us.
